TMS 2026 - Talks, Symposium Organization, and Session Leadership in San Diego

🎤 TMS 2026 Annual Meeting, San Diego

I participated in the TMS 2026 Annual Meeting in San Diego through research presentations, symposium organization, and session leadership across several areas of physical metallurgy and magnesium research.

Research Presentations

I presented two oral talks:

“How Alloying Elements Shape Vacancy-Induced Solute Clustering in Binary Magnesium Alloys”

This talk focused on how alloy chemistry influences vacancy-solute interactions and the development of solute clustering following non-equilibrium processing.

“When Processing Leads the Way: ML-Powered Optimization of Biodegradable Mg Alloys”

This presentation discussed our use of experimental feedback and machine-learning-guided exploration to navigate processing pathways for biodegradable magnesium alloys.

Symposium & Session Leadership

I also served as a Co-Organizer of the symposium:

Vacancy Engineering in Metals & Alloys

The symposium brought together researchers working across vacancy physics, phase transformations, structural materials, processing, and computational materials science.

I additionally served as a Session Chair for:

  • Vacancy Engineering in Various Applications
  • Magnesium Technology: Biomedical Applications, Corrosion Mechanisms and Characterization
